PsychAssociates Group provides psychological services to residents and staff in long-term care facilities in New York. Founded in 1993, our staff of more than 60 licensed clinical psychologists work hand-in-hand with medical doctors, social workers, nursing, rehabilitation, administration and ancillary staff to address mental health and behavioral management needs of residents in long-term care settings. PsychAssociates also provides training for all staff in long-term care settings.
“PsychAssociates Group (is) an innovator in developing and integrating psychological services into medical, educational, and corporate organizations.”
Nita M. Lowey, Member of Congress, 2008
Mission
The mission of PsychAssociates Group is to meet the mental health needs of the elderly in long-term care settings with competence and compassion. We are committed to working at the interface of physical and mental health to help better serve each resident as a whole person. Competent and compassionate psychological assessment and treatment within an interdisciplinary framework powerfully enhances quality of life and response to medical treatment and rehabilitation. We help professional and family caregivers to understand and address resident emotional and behavioral needs. Finally, we are dedicated to ongoing advocacy and public education work supporting the profession of psychology, and protecting and improving access to quality services for elderly and disabled persons.
“They’re strong and tenderhearted at the same time, and always responsive to our concerns
… and they always make us laugh!”
